On Monday, October 5, members of the Latin American Student Organization (LASO) at Spartanburg Methodist College visited Spartanburg High School at the invitation of Ms. Juarez and the Spanish Club.

During the school’s lunch periods, we met with students, answered questions about SMC, and shared our experiences with college life and campus involvement. We also had the opportunity to connect with members of Converse University’s HOLA organization.

After the visit, Ms. Juarez shared:

“Thank you for representing your organizations, sharing your experiences, and connecting with our students. We loved having you all and can’t wait to invite you back next year!”

“I am incredibly proud of our LASO members for taking time out of their day to help high school students think about their next steps. While we shared information about SMC campus tours and scholarships, our main goal was to offer genuine, useful advice for wherever they decide to study. Thank you to Ms. Juarez, the Spartanburg High School Spanish Club, and everyone who represented SMC. It was also great connecting with Converse’s HOLA, and I hope this visit opens the door for more collaborative events in the future.”
