202 Students Set New Attendance Record at Noche de Disco
Event date:
Community Life and LASO welcomed 202 registered students to Noche de Disco on October 13 at Sparrow Plaza, a new attendance record for LASO and Community Life. That number comes from ID scans at check-in and does not include guests or students who did not have their ID, so actual turnout was even higher. The event was part of SMC's Founders Week.
The evening featured music, dancing, musical chairs, mocktails, esquites, fruit and fresas con crema. A vintage Volkswagen bus photo booth gave students a chance to take pictures with friends, printing 187 photo strips over the night (not counting copies). '70s outfits and light-up flower crowns added to the night's theme.
Behind the event were weeks of planning, meetings, promotional videos and preparations. LASO members, Community Assistants and volunteers helped turn those plans into an evening for students to enjoy together.
"That's the biggest turnout we've had. It shows what LASO and Community Life can do when we plan together. I'm proud of everyone who helped make it happen, and excited for what's next."
LASO thanks Community Life and advisor Yashuri Del Rosario Rodríguez for their work throughout the planning and the event. Thank you also to the leadership team, CAs, members and volunteers who helped with setup, check-in, serving, activities and cleanup, as well as everyone who handled music, taught dances, took photos and recorded videos.
Every contribution mattered, including sharing a post, inviting a friend or stepping in when help was needed. To everyone who attended or helped make Noche de Disco happen: thank you. We hope you had as much fun being there as we did sharing the night with you.
